Give Me Your Candy!

Once again we celebrate Halloween under circumstances.

I wasn't sure of the protocol for my kids when they went Trick or Treating. Did they wear a mask over their mask, under, or none at all?

My wife and I decided the best thing was to do all the candy receiving (and then eating) for them while they stood there and watched.

Weekend Worrier

Having Halloween on a weekend was also a little awkward.

I forgot how that works. I’m used to having kids come home from school. There’s usually a comfortable pause before going out.

But on a weekend do you go out after breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?

In God and The Devil We Trust

I decided to be the follower on this one. I told my kids to scout for the first Trick or Treater then we would know it’s happening.

It felt like Jaws when everyone was sitting on the beach afraid to go into the water.

At first, it looked like we’d be getting no trick or treaters. But then I figured out it must be because it was Sunday and a lot of the kids went to church first to celebrate God first before coming home to worship the devil.

It wasn’t until dark I realized our sidewalks had been blocked off for construction. “Oh shit! Next year,” I told the kids.
